E-ISSN: 2640-2874 · Upholding the standards of scholarly excellence and ethical peer review
Introduction
Reviewers are entrusted with a vital responsibility in the scholarly publishing process. Their evaluations ensure that manuscripts meet the standards of scientific integrity, novelty, and relevance. By fulfilling their duties diligently, reviewers safeguard the credibility of APCR and contribute to the advancement of pathology and clinical research.
Confidentiality
All submitted manuscripts are confidential. Reviewers must not share content with others, use unpublished information for personal gain, or disclose findings without permission. Review material must be securely deleted after review completion.
Objectivity and Fairness
- Reviews should focus solely on the content, avoiding prejudice or bias.
- Comments must be evidence-based and constructive.
- Language should be respectful and professional at all times.
Quality of Feedback
Reviewers should provide comprehensive feedback that helps authors improve their work. This includes:
- Identifying methodological strengths and weaknesses.
- Suggesting clarifications to enhance readability.
- Highlighting significant contributions of the manuscript.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must declare conflicts of interest, whether financial, personal, or professional. If a conflict exists, the reviewer should decline the invitation or inform the editor immediately.
Timeliness
Reviewers are expected to complete assignments within the designated timeframe, usually 2–3 weeks. Delays should be communicated promptly to the editorial office.
Integrity in Review
- Do not plagiarize or appropriate ideas from manuscripts.
- Do not use AI tools irresponsibly for content evaluation without human oversight.
- Report suspected ethical issues or misconduct discreetly to the editor.
Recommendations
Reviewers should conclude their reports with a recommendation, clearly explaining the rationale:
