What We Publish in Regular Issues
Archives of Pathology and Clinical Research (APCR) invites submissions of original research articles, systematic reviews, brief reports, case reports, technical and methodological notes, and commentaries across all areas of pathology, diagnostics, laboratory medicine, and translational research. Your work should demonstrate methodological rigor, clinical relevance, ethical compliance, and clarity of presentation.
Article Types Accepted
- Original Research — hypothesis‐driven work, validated assays, statistical analysis, clinical or diagnostic implications.
- Systematic & Scoping Reviews / Meta-analyses — transparent methodology, comprehensive search, bias and limitations assessment.
- Case Reports & Series — exceptional or novel disease presentations, diagnostic difficulties, image-rich reporting.
- Technical/Methods Notes — assay validations, reproducibility, method comparison, QC/QA studies.
- Brief Reports / Letters / Commentaries — critical viewpoints, policy or educational reflections, focused investigations.
Authors should follow our full Author Guidelines when preparing manuscripts. Required components include clear structured abstract, ethics statement, declaration of funding sources, conflict of interest, data availability, and adherence to reporting guidelines when applicable (e.g., PRISMA, STARD, REMARK).
Peer Review Process
APCR uses a double-blind peer review model: both authors' and reviewers’ identities are concealed throughout review. The editorial office screens submissions initially for scope, ethics, originality, and plagiarism (via iThenticate) before peer review.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts on clarity, methodological rigour, relevancy to community/lab practice, ethical compliance, statistical soundness, reproducibility, and novelty. A revision phase is provided if needed. Final decisions by Editor-in-Chief or assigned editors.
APC / Charges
APCR is an open access journal. There is no submission fee; charges apply only upon acceptance to cover editorial, production, and archiving costs.
Estimated APC for regular issues: USD 2,949, depending on article type and length.
If you have funding constraints, waivers or discounts may be available; please contact the Editorial Office for case‐by‐case consideration.
Timeline & Deadlines
APCR generally publishes one regular issue per year (Yearly frequency). Submissions for a regular issue are accepted on a rolling basis but for planning and editorial workflow, authors should consider internal deadlines.
After acceptance, articles are published online and then in the yearly volume. Peer review decisions are typically communicated within 4-8 weeks subject to reviewer availability. Production from final acceptance to online publication may take an additional 2-4 weeks.
